God, I Love Vermont! Impeachment is in the Air.

ARTICLE 29
We the voters of Newfane would like Town Meeting, March 2006, to consider the following resolution:

Whereas George W. Bush has:

1. Misled the nation about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction;

2. Misled the nation about ties between Iraq and Al Quaeda;

3. Used these falsehoods to lead our nation into war unsupported by international law;

4. Not told the truth about American policy with respect to the use of torture; and

5. Has directed the government to engage in domestic spying, in direct contravention of U.S. law.

Therefore, the voters of the town of Newfane ask that our representative to the U.S. House of Representatives file articles of impeachment to remove him from office.

George W Bush - Might Without Morality

George W Bush:

Possesses power without compassion

Might without Morality

and Strength without Sight

...and he is surely dragging us down "the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those..." who condone torture, rendition and detention without trial, and wars without justification.

May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

In order to have credibility ... we better mean what we say

In January 2006, President Bush said "When an American President says something, he better mean it….in order to be able to have credibility in this world, when we speak, we better mean what we say."

Then at his 2006 State of the Union message he says ..."
So tonight, I announce the Advanced Energy Initiative -- a 22-percent increase in clean-energy research -- at the Department of Energy, to push for breakthroughs in two vital areas. To change how we power our homes and offices, we will invest more in zero-emission coal-fired plants, revolutionary solar and wind technologies, and clean, safe nuclear energy.''

Then, the NEXT DAY, various papers report:

"
The Energy Department will begin laying off researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the next week or two because of cuts to its budget.

A veteran researcher said the staff had been told that the cuts would be concentrated among researchers in wind and biomass, which includes ethanol. Those are two of the technologies that Mr. Bush cited on Tuesday night as holding the promise to replace part of the nation's oil imports."

So, Mr President, exactly what did you mean in your SOTU speech? We know what you said, and based on actions that followed, you clearly didn't mean what you said.

It's incredible!

US Govt Building Detention Centers - Creepy!

The federal government has awarded a $385 million contract for the construction of "temporary detention facilities." These will be used in the event of an "immigration emergency." The contract was awarded to Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR), a subsidiary of Haliburton (military contractor with record profits and friends in the Vice Presidential Palace).

This hasn't been widely communicated, either to the press, or apparently to Congress. That's why it's creepy, considering the use of "detention" camps built by Germany in WWII.

They say it's for use for an "immigration emergency". But maybe it could be used to detain anyone committing or suspected of committing "Treason". And maybe just before mid term elections.... but hey, I'm starting to scare myself. It could never happen here...
