We the voters of Newfane would like Town Meeting, March 2006, to consider the following resolution:
We the voters of Newfane would like Town Meeting, March 2006, to consider the following resolution:
Whereas George W. Bush has:
1. Misled the nation about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction;
2. Misled the nation about ties between Iraq and Al Quaeda;
3. Used these falsehoods to lead our nation into war unsupported by international law;
4. Not told the truth about American policy with respect to the use of torture; and
5. Has directed the government to engage in domestic spying, in direct contravention of U.S. law.
Therefore, the voters of the town of Newfane ask that our representative to the U.S. House of Representatives file articles of impeachment to remove him from office.

Thanks for blogging about this topic, and your interest. I'm leaving this comment because I wanted to share some links, and let you know how what you blogged about fits in with something else that is going on.
Right now there is a surprise unfolding for the President -- [ LOL ] -- these are state level impeachment proclamations. There's nothing he can do to stop this.
One thing to remember about these state-level impeachment efforts: It only takes one state, and the House can't hide this in committee. Rather, this will force the House members to publicly vote whether they are for or against the rule of law. Then, the voters will have nine months to decide whether they trust the Congress, or find new leaders.
This will force the House to vote up or down on the issue of impeachment. This method was successfully tested in 1903 against a sitting Federal Judge. [ Summary: Click for details on how this works, and the RNC cannot stop this.]

This is happening quickly, Vermont is leading the way, and there is great progress being made around the country. There is nothing the RNC can do to stop this local level debate. Please encourage your friends to discuss this with your state officials, and others in the blogosphere who like to read the Anxious Earth blog.
